Peace and quiet

I am findinf the last few weeks to be a wonderful time of some piece and quiet. The grandkids next door have started to school and seem to be liking it really well even our Brycen,1st grader, to whom school is a necessary evil. When I ask him how his day went at school his answer is almost always,Grandma, I'd rather not talk about it." To which I answer," WHy did you get into trouble?" "No. I just don't want to talk about it!" So far no notes from the teacher. Our Brianna, 4th grader, loves school and everything about it. Always has and is an "A' student. Big brother Devin is a Freshman this year and has no complaints. He is taking Art this year and is very happy about it. Their parents continue to have to be at work at 6:00 A.M. thirty miles away which leaves me to have to get the kids up, dressed, fed and off to school by 7:30. But then I have the whole day to clean, cook, craft, ect. Our grandaughter Amber, husband David and baby Emily that had been living with us have moved so he can attend technical college. So for the first time in our married life we are Free of kids. I do miss them but it is so nice and the kids next door still keep me pretty busy. We spent last week-end converting Amber and David's bedroom into a guest bedroom. The first ever for us. I am missing our sweet baby Emily but it is nice not to hear a knock on my bedroom door at 3:00A.M. because they can't get baby back to sleep.
We are getting some much needed rain. Even though we still have some 90* weather, fall is definately on the way. I can feel it in my bones. I have many things planned for Autem projects. We will see how many I get completed. Not much else for now.

The Journey

Dear Friends this is my first try at blogging so I ask your patience. First a little bit about myself. I am a mom of four children plus also a mom to two precious grandchildren that we adopted and raised, granmom to eight if you count the two we raised-we were still granma and granpa to them- and great-granma to our darling Emily. I am wife to a wonderful man who is a minister of the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Our journey together has been filled with many blessings and joy but also with many struggles. We adopted our oldest daughter when we had been married nine months, our son one year later and a third ,a daughter, three years later then we were blessed with a son by birth two years after that. I love dolls and have tried almost all aspects of doll making from cloth to porcelain to the reborn kits of life-like vinly. I also love primitive crafts and all things primitive. This blog will be about day to day happenings in this crazy household, antics of grandkids and other things. I invite comments and questions. Have a Blessed Day!
